Purpose and legal basis

Data is used to provide the service and complete deals (contract), to prevent misuse and fraud (legitimate interest) and for statutory obligations (accounting, DAC7).

Handovers

Our service providers process data: Stripe (payments and verification), SMTP2GO (emails), Google (login, if you choose it) and Hetzner (servers, EU). The parties to a paid deal see each other's name, email and phone number, and for shipped items the delivery address. If a seller selects "Show my phone number" for an Arrange the deal yourself listing, the number is shown to logged-in users who request it from the listing (basis: the seller's consent, which can be withdrawn by deselecting the option). Number views are logged to prevent misuse and the logs are deleted after 12 months.

Seller tax information (DAC7)

From sellers approaching the reporting threshold (30 sales or 2,000 € per year), we collect name, address, date of birth or Business ID, personal identity code or other tax identification number, and bank account number. The legal basis is a statutory obligation: the Act on Assessment Procedure (DAC7). The data is disclosed annually to the Finnish Tax Administration, which may forward it to the tax authorities of other EU countries. The personal identity code and account number are stored encrypted. The data is retained for 10 years from the end of the reporting year.

Storage

Data is kept for as long as the account is active, and data required by the Accounting Act for 6 years.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data at info@sellora.fi. You can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman.

AI assistant

The site's chat assistant uses Anthropic PBC's Claude AI service (United States, EU Standard Contractual Clauses). When you use the chat, the messages you write and the page address are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Conversations are not stored in our service or linked to your user account; Anthropic does not use data sent via the API to train models and retains it for a limited time for abuse monitoring. Do not enter your personal identity code, payment card details or passwords in the chat. Using the chat is voluntary; customer service also answers at info@sellora.fi.

Embeds on other websites

Sellers and owners can show their own published listings on their own websites using an embed or the WordPress plugin. The visitor's browser then fetches the listing data from our service; the request includes the usual technical data (IP address, browser details and page address). The embed does not set cookies or process other personal data. Bookings and purchases are always made in our service.

Purchases and bookings on a seller's or owner's own website

When you buy or book through a form embedded on a seller's or owner's own website, the form is a page of our service. We collect your name, email address, phone number and, if needed, your delivery address to carry out the purchase or booking (contract). The data is processed as in purchases and bookings made in our service and passed to the seller or owner to handle the deal. Payments are processed by Stripe. The administrator of the website where the form is embedded does not receive the form data from our service other than as a party to the deal.

Cookies and analytics

Necessary cookies (login) are always in use. Google Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner; IP addresses are anonymised and the data is not used for advertising. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the page.
